    Numbers 24:10-19, ESV

And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he struck his hands together. And Balak said to Balaam, “I called you to curse my enemies, and behold, you have blessed them these three times. Therefore now flee to your own place. I said, ‘I will certainly honor you,’ but the Lord has held you back from honor.” And Balaam said to Balak, “Did I not tell your messengers whom you sent to me, ‘If Balak should give me his house full of silver and gold, I would not be able to go beyond the word of the Lord, to do either good or bad of my own will. What the Lord speaks, that will I speak’? And now, behold, I am going to my people. Come, I will let you know what this people will do to your people in the latter days.”

And he took up his discourse and said,

“The oracle of Balaam the son of Beor, the oracle of the man whose eye is opened, the oracle of him who hears the words of God,
and knows the knowledge of the Most High, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down with his eyes uncovered: I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob,
and a scepter shall rise out of Israel; it shall crush the forehead of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth. Edom shall be dispossessed; Seir also, his enemies, shall be dispossessed.
Israel is doing valiantly. And one from Jacob shall exercise dominion
and destroy the survivors of cities!”

    Our Prayer

Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus and for all people according to their needs.

Blessed are you, O Lord our God, king of the universe who called Your people Israel to be your chosen people and taught us to pray ‘for the peace of Jerusalem! ‘May peace be within Your walls and security within Your towers!’ So may there be peace among the people of Israel, and may they come to know their redemption that is found in Jesus— the star that came out of Jacob and the scepter that arose out of Israel.

Lord our refuge and strength, grant refuge and strength to the nations of the world which are enduring turmoil and conflict— especially the Ukraine—- bring peace and concord to all nations and their leaders that they may put their trust in you and know that you are their stronghold in times of trouble.

Oh Lord, the light and salvation of all the world, grant wisdom and perseverance to all who bring the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ into the world. Bless especially all who are involved in the Apple of His Eye. So that all the nations may extol You, for Your steadfast love endures forever. May they faithfully bring your Word, which is a Lamp to our feet and a light to our path, to those who are lost in the darkness of sin. In order that they may know Jesus— the shining star—- who arose out of Jacob and grants light to the nations.

All these things we pray in the Holy Name of Yeshua Hamashiach Amen!

  • Daniel’s Prayer: He Who Has Ears to Hear, Let Him Hear It Today

The horrors of these times wreak havoc on our world and lives. In the face of full-on sin and desecration of God’s holy name and law, let us return to the Lord in prayer that He might grant grace, mercy and forgiveness to believers and help seekers find salvation in Jesus.

  • The Truth is Out There

How I long for the months gone by, for the days when God watched over me, when his lamp shone on my head and by his light I walked through darkness! Oh, for the days when I was in my prime, when God’s intimate friendship blessed my house, when the Almighty was still with me and my children were around me, when my path was drenched with cream and the rock poured out for me streams of olive oil. (Job 29:2-6, NIV)

Presently, our great and wonderful State of Texas…

  • Palestine: A Brief History and Needed Correction

(This article appeared originally in the December 1997 Levitt Letter)

During the last few centuries, the world, Christians included, has fallen into a bad habit. We have bought into some early Roman propaganda. We have used the name Palestine, which Roman Emperor Hadrian placed on the country of Israel in 135 A.D., for so long that it has become common usage. This would be as incorrect as calling the Russia of today the “Soviet Union” or referring to Berlin as “East Germany”…If you know somebody who’s fallen into this habit, please share this article with them.

  • The Power of Three

And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken (Eccles. 4:12, English Standard Version).

Before I was a believer in Jesus, I had many different jobs in direct sales. I worked for a period with Mutual of Omaha, then sold Kirby vacuum cleaners, went on to Compact vacuum cleaners, tried my hand at door-to-door selling with waterless cookware, worked in a portrait photography studio selling graduation and wedding packets, and worked in several jewelry stores selling everything from costume jewelry to fine diamonds and watches.

  • Run! Run! Run!

So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. (Matt. 28:8, English Standard Version)

Trembling but ecstatic they went out and fled from the tomb. (Mark. 16:8, New Living Translation)

…and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. (Luke 24:9, Complete Jewish Bible)

100% of people who breathe oxygen die.

    Coincidence? I think not.

Death is something we are all certain of. But not all of us know where we’re going after we die. Because of my salvation through Jesus’s death on the cross…

Salvation belongs to the LORD; your blessing be on your people! Selah (Psalm 3:8, ESV).

A question to begin: Where are we now?

We are two years plus into the covid pandemic. Ukrainians are two months plus into the hellish atrocities of war. Deaths, poverty, homelessness, mass shootings, fires, spiraling inflation, stocks plummeting, and more invade our minds and hearts through instant media cycles blasting 24/7 around the world.
