(Psalm 127:3, CJB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>After creating heaven and earth, God created Adam and Eve. And the first thing He said was:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">God: \u201cDon\u2019t\u201d<br \/> Adam: \u201cDon\u2019t what?\u201d<br \/> GOD: \u201cDon\u2019t eat the forbidden fruit\u201d<br \/> Adam: \u201cForbidden fruit? We have forbidden fruit?!? Hey Eve\u2026we have forbidden fruit!!!\u201d<br \/> Eve: \u201cNo way!\u201d<br \/> Adam: \u201cYes Way!\u201d<br \/> God: \u201cDo not eat the fruit!\u201d<br \/> Adam: whine \u201cWhy???\u201d<br \/> God: \u201cBecause I am your Father and I said so! Oi Vey!!! Why didn\u2019t I stop creation after making the elephants?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A few minutes later, God saw His children having an apple break, and He was ticked!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">God: \u201cDidn\u2019t I tell you not to eat the fruit?\u201d<br \/> Adam: \u201cUh huh\u201d<br \/> God: \u201cThen why did you?\u201d<br \/> Eve: \u201cI don\u2019t know\u201d<br \/> Adam: \u201cShe started it!\u201d<br \/> Eve: \u201cDid not!\u201d<br \/> Adam: \u201cDid too!\u201d<br \/> Eve: \u201cDid not!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Having had it with the two of them, God\u2019s punishment was that Adam and Eve would have children of their own. Thus, the pattern was set, and it has never changed.<\/p>\n<p>But, there is reassurance in the story!<\/p>\n<p>If you have persistently and lovingly tried to give children wisdom, and they haven\u2019t taken it, don\u2019t be hard on yourself. If God had trouble raising children, what makes you think it would be a piece of cake for you?<\/p>\n<p>Here are some things to consider:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>You spend the first two years of their life teaching them to talk and walk. Then you spend the next 16 telling them to sit down and shut up.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Grandchildren are God\u2019s reward for not killing your own children.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Mothers of teens now know why some animals eat their young.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Children seldom misquote you.
