Answering the Call for Y’shua<\/h3>\n

Have you ever receive a phone call from a salesperson, political, or solicitor seeking your time and attention? What is you initial, knee-jerk reaction once you have answered? Most tell me that they want to hang up and end the call as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n

But Wait<\/h4>\n

Perhaps there is an opportunity here for YOU to make a difference in the life of a total stranger you may never meet. Here is how.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

    As soon as you answer the phone and determine that this is someone you do not know, the first thing you should say is:<\/p>\n

    “Oh I am so glad that you called me today!” (Brief pause…)<\/p>\n

    “I am sure that you have something very important to tell me, but before you do, I wanted to ask you a quick question. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF JESUS?”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    If the person says that he\/she does not talk about religion, affirm the following:<\/p>\n

    “That is great; neither do I. I am not talking about a religion, I am talking about a person who lived nearly 2,000 years ago. The Bible says that he came to earth to die for our sins so that we could inherit eternal life.”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Listen to their response.<\/p>\n

    “Did you grow up in a family involved in a spiritual community?”<\/p>\n

    If yes… “Which one?”<\/p>\n

    If no… “How familiar are you with the Bible, God’s words to us his creation?”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Listen to the response. Then get back to the question:<\/p>\n

    “So, what DO you think of Jesus?”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Listen to their response.<\/p>\n

    “Do you know that God loves you? He has a specific plan for your life and invites you to be His person through faith in Jesus which is a gift from God itself.”<\/p>\n

    “I would like to invite you to find out more. I have some free information I would like to send to you. Let me take your name and home address or e-mail address so that I can get it to you quickly and get your opinion.”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Once you have that information or even if they refuse to give it to you tell them this:<\/p>\n

    “I believe that God answers prayer. Is there anything going on in your life right now that I could pray for?”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Make note of the prayer and thank them for taking time to call you as you will indeed be in prayer for them. Then tell them to have a peaceful day.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    We live very busy lives. Sometimes so busy that we miss the opportunities the Lord brings our way to invite others to consider their eternal standing.<\/p>\n

    Don’t think of calls as intrusions, rather consider them as divine appointments. They have called you. They are paying the cost of the call, and there is probably a second party listening in for “training purposes”. So in effect you are getting a “two-fer” that is “two” people hearing the Gospel “fer” the time and energy of speaking to just one person.<\/p>\n

    So what are you waiting for?<\/p>\n

    Answer the phone, smile, and let people know that you are glad that they called. You never know what is going on in their life that you might help with a word from the Lord.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
